Night of the Rising Stars

Over 400 students are on their way to the famous Night of the Rising Stars party. My daughter happens to be one of them..

In order to qualify a student must meet the following criteria:
• No out of school suspensions
• One or fewer discipline referrals
• No tardy detentions
• Average GPA of 3.0 for 1st quarter through 4th quarter midterms.

I felt it necessary to share my daughter's triumph for two reasons. First, what good is having a blog when you can't brag about how beautiful your daughter is? I'm certain every mother feels the same way about her children.

God doesn't make mistakes, or accidents. He doesn't create ugly or damaged beings. God is in the business of creating masterpieces. Every child is beautiful. Every child has immeasurable worth. Sadly, we often are blind to the exquisiteness of God's creations. I was reminded tonight how much God has truly blessed me with. I am a very proud mother.

My second reason for sharing; I must brag about the deal I found. This dress came from Goodwill for $5! Let me repeat that, $5! I love that store. They always have exactly what I am looking for, plus some.

"Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious." 1 Peter 3: 3-4
